Christ Church are hosting a networking breakfast for Family, Youth and Childlren's Ministry workers in Weston and surrounding areas on Saturday 27th June from 8.30am - 10am. It's an opportunity for all those involved in this ministry (paid and volunteers) to meet together and share ideas and good practice, but most importantly, to encourage and support each other with prayer and friendship. The aim is to create a cohesive network across our churches that will impact the children and youth and their families in our town and surrounding areas with the love of Jesus.  Caroline Deakin (Youth Pastor) will be speaking about her last year in post at Locking Castle Church and share the highs and lows of her steep learning curve and also her vision and passion for this network.

If you're planning to come, please notify Donna Pilgrim at Christ Church by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. - so we know rough numbers for breakfast!

We ask for £3 per head to cover breakfast costs please, which you can pay on the day.

We hope to see lots of you there.
Please spread the word!!

27th July - 31st July ~ 10am – 12noon

We're off on a Polar Expedition to discover that you are never too young, too old, too hopeless.... never too ANYTHING to be part of God's Great Adventure!!

Our Bible verse is Philippians 2:13 from the International Children's Bible -

Yes, God is working in you to help you want to do what pleases him. Then he gives you the power to do it.

The truth we'll be exploring is that no matter how bad or inadequate we feel we are, God can transform us! We'll be looking at some very unlikely candidates for God's work from the New Testament and finding out how they became part of God's Great Adventure!

To enable us to run this event we need team! If you're still thinking about it....there's still a space for YOU! We need a leader, assistant and a gopher (young helper!) for each small group of children. The children spend time in their 'igloos' talking about the Bible teaching, filling out their 'Expedition Logs', eating snacks and making crafts! We have team games, quizzes and singing too! As in previous years we hope to have 8 'igloos' – so we need a big team!

Please do pray for the team as we prepare to run this outreach event. It's a big job, but well worth the effort! And pray too for the children and families that will come – may those that don't yet know Him, come to know Jesus as Saviour and those that do, deepen their faith.

The Team Training Evening will be held on Monday July 6th at 7.30pm in the Spire Centre.

Another way you can help is to collect craft items and props for us.... all items can be left in the tubs in the Baptistry (behind the curtains at the back of church)

We need:-

cotton wool balls/strips/rolls, cardboard rolls (toilet or kitchen!), Oat so Simple boxes, brown flat mushroom trays (the type you get 3 or 4 big mushrooms in), string, mini cereal boxes, lots of small empty cardboard boxes for junk modelling, small cake boxes, tea bag boxes etc. white sheets, foil, glue sticks, cellotape and dispensers (you can get these in Poundland) and any pictures from the film 'Frozen', penguins, sleighs and other polar stuff!! Anything that would help us create a Polar Frozen landscape!! The one thing we don't need this year is plastic milk bottles!

If you have children coming to Polar or Frozen Explorers, get the registration forms back in as soon as you can...See you there!

CherishedCherished is a weekly bible study for women.

'Your God, chose you out of all the people on Earth for himself as a cherished, personal treasure.' - Deuteronomy 7:6b

It is an opportunity to study God's word together, build friendships and to discover just how much each of us is cherished and loved by God.

We are an informal bunch! We meet at 1.15pm for afternoon coffee and cake and to watch a dvd based bible study. We aim to be finished by 2.45 to allow time for the school run.

Breathe... BreatheSpace to be with God, to be you, to be a Mum, to be real.
An informal Bible Study for Mums and their little ones... Coffee, Cake and Chat

Bringing up little ones is exhausting! Very often days go by with no time to stop and just be still.

‘Breathe’ offers you the chance to come with your little ones, enjoy a cuppa, a slice of cake, the company of others in the same situation, space to chat, space to be you and space to be with God – all while your little ones play. We look at how the Bible speaks into our lives right now and how God’s word is relevant to our situations. Our hope is that ‘Breathe’ is a little sanctuary in the busy week. Thursdays, 10am, during term time, in the Christ Church Spire Centre. For more information: contact Nicky Boardman, Family Ministry Co-ordinator.
