Safeguarding in the church community ie making our church safe for children, young people and vulnerable adults, is everyone’s responsibility.

Everyone involved in life at Christchurch should know what to do in a situation where a child, young person or vulnerable adult may have been harmed.

Each parish or benefice has an appointed person for safeguarding – that named person for Christchurch with Emmanuel is Hilary Emery.

This person is responsible for safe recruitment, which includes CRB applications, advice, training and resources as required. They will also know how to respond to concerns and where to seek further help and advice, namely from the Safeguarding team for Bath and Wells diocese.

We take this whole area of safeguarding very seriously and if there are any issues/concerns, the appointed person is very happy to be contacted.
